PURPOSE OF THE MEETING
The inaugural meeting for zoo and wildlife medicine in Asia hopes to facilitate an exchange of information in wildlife veterinary medicine and to foster friendship and collaboration between veterinarians or veterinary students working on conservation medicine for zoo and wildlife in Asia. As ecological hotspots in Asia face similar problems in wildlife medicine, this will be a useful opportunity for sharing veterinary experiences and concerns.
This first meeting may be small but we encourage people who are interested in this inaugural meeting to join us. Let's talk and talk, and also drink!

CALL FOR PAPERS WITH POSTERS
Application for contribution of oral presentation at the First Meeting for Asian Zoo & Wildlife Medicine 2005 should be received no later than September 30th. Official language of the meeting is English (Asian version) and all papers should be presented in this language. Speakers should forward the abstract of their presentation via email as text file to the Program Chair, Dr Junpei Kimura.
If there is insufficient time to forward the abstract before the closing date, please bring it as printed papers for around 100 sheets (preferable), the text file as CD-ROM, USB memory or floppy diskettes at the time of registration on Friday morning, October 28th. We may be able to print out the file on the spot.
Titles of papers should be in capitals. Please include the names and complete addresses of all authors on the abstract and underline the name of the person who will present the paper. To facilitate better comprehension, the authors who present papers should also prepare a poster of their oral presentation.

Oral presentations will be limited to a maximum of thirty (30) minutes including time for questions.
Posters may be up to 0.84 meters wide and 1.2 meters high. They will be displayed in the meeting room from Friday morning through Sunday morning with poster sessions during afternoon breaks on the three days.
An LCD projector connected to an IBM-compatible computer and an Apple Powerbook with PowerPoint will be provided. PowerPoint presentations should be given to the session projectionist one half day prior to the beginning of your session. It is the author's responsibility to format appropriately for the available computer. If other audiovisual equipment is required, please make your request at the submission of the abstract.
REGISTRATION
Registration Costs : 1,800 Thai Bhats equivalent to about US$49.00 (including the proceedings of the meeting distributed through CD-ROM)
Students : Free of charge

The association should be established soon.
